This poem helped me overcome the fear of failure that made me often give up on ideas I hadn’t even tried out yet. Have you been at a place where you have so many ideas you know would be great but the fear of trying and failing completely cripples you and stops you from starting? This poem is just for you.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
By Marianne Williamson.
Fear loses power over you every time you look it straight in the face and say “I’m going to do it anyway!”
We as young entrepreneurs need to strive to be fearless, but being fearless is not the absence of fear. It is being deathly afraid to do something but still putting yourself out there and giving it your all, not for anyone else but for yourself. So what if you try and you do fail? You will never make any progress unless you make mistakes and learn from them.
You are powerful beyond measure! You just need to believe it too.
